Introduction
Hello,I am Professor Mark Watson-Gandy. I am the founder of KidsMBA. As a lawyer, I saw people and companies repeatedly become unstuck because of basic business mistakes. Yet business skills can be learned. And like anyskill, the more you do it, the better you get at it. This Kids MBA Programme will teach you basic business skills and know how you’ll need to set up and run a successful business.
It is about how to turn your idea into cash and how to spend your cash effectively. And as you’ll soon see, business skills are pretty useful to have, whatever you decide to do later.

Why you need business skills
The KidsMBA Programme consists of 16 modules and is designed to give you an introduction to a variety of business skills. You will learn how to do business, how to structure a business and how to keep your business.
The sad truth is that many new businesses fail in the first 5 years. Often this is not because the
business idea was bad but because the owners of the business lacked the right business skills and know-how. After this KidsMBA programme you will be well equipped to do business better.
Project-based learning (PBL)is a student-centredpedagogy that involves a dynamic classroom approachin which it is believed that students acquire a deeperknowledge through active exploration of real-worldchallenges and problems. Every day, business is conducted all around us. Let’ s suppose right now you don’ t want to start a business but you want to be a artist instead.
Is being a artist anything to do with business? Well let’s just imagine. You’ve:
●undertook a large student loan to complete your art education
●spent all your time creating art works in a studio
●terrified your parents that you aren’t ever going to get a ‘real job’ .
And let’s suppose it all takes off.
What tasks do you need to do as a artist?
Suddenly it looks awfully like a business.
Getting money out of your art works is not just about talent or luck. It is also about having the business skills to turn your art piece into cash.
And you will only make real money if you know how to run it as a business.
And like any skill, it can be learned. Like any skill the more you do it, the better you get at it.
You’ll need to know about (Business skills you need):
●Marketing the art works Entering into contracts for art exhibition; and with agents
●Copyrighting and licensing the art works
●Collecting royalties
●Merchandising (how you get your art works to be printed on T-shirts and sell to the masses).
